Cofi, a chicago-based organization, empowers parents to lead advocacy efforts that drive systemic change. This project addresses the widespread issue of health misinformation, which weakens public health efforts and exacerbates health disparities. Research shows that peer-led education is one of the most effective ways to counter misinformation, as people trust information from within their own networks. Through a cohort-based model, parents will receive training on adverse childhood experiences (aces), structural determinants of health, and protective factors alongside leadership and advocacy skills. Equipped with this knowledge, they will be able to identify misinformation, share reliable health information, and advocate for upstream solutions that address root causes of health inequities, strengthening community resilience. less
