This includes adaptive bikes, summer camps, and therapeutic and specialized classes. The foundation also focuses on growing its outreach and support programs; promoting awareness by building networks and partnerships; and by staying apprised of leading-edge research. less

These labels assist first responders in getting the proper care for children with disabilities who have been hurt in a traffic accident, particularly when the parent or caregiver is unavailable. less

Just through its partnership with childrens hospital of alabama alone, kid one provides nearly 7,000 transports annually. Current service areas include north, central and east alabama, with dreams of expanding its reach to serve every county within the state. less

Soga's approach is holistic, in that it increases the physical, social and physiological development of athletes, placing emphasis on health education by offering a series of health screenings in conjunction with the state games. Athletes build confidence and a positive self-image through playing sports and carry those character traits back into the classroom, the home, the job, and the community. less

Through equine-assisted therapy (eat), 100 physically challenged youth under the age of 18 receive weekly empowered, joy-filled adaptive riding experiences atop a horse. Participants include but are not limited to individuals with cerebral palsy, down syndrome, autism and adhd. Each private 30-minute session is designed to address the needs of each individual rider whether that is cognitive, physical, emotional or behavioral. Horseback riding has been linked to cognitive and emotional benefits and physical improvements in balance, motor skills, sensory integration and muscle strength. less

With kinect sports, it's less about keeping score and more about celebrating the wins. Students grades 6-8 will use lessons learned to write a series of stem activities that explore environmental science geared toward k-5th grade students and then script, produce, film and edit videoes to compliment the activities.
