They also are in need of therapeutic tools for the kids to manipulate or play with during sessions as they have a very small annual budgets ($100) per school to purchase such items. Our success rate speaks volumes (including a 100% high school graduation rate) and needs to expand to reach a greater audience. We are the only local organization that offers free soccer training but requires academic excellence for the kids we serve in CNY. The kids receive an opportunity to play soccer and before they know it, we are utilizing that love and passion for the sport. The youth served are predominantly from zip codes 13204, 13205, and 13207 with more than half of the youth participating in these programs residing on the Near Westside of Syracuse. The program serves youth throughout the year with three primary program components: the afterschool program which is licensed and regulated by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services, the teen program which allows teens to come together on site or plan and attend outings in the community, and a six week summer camp through the months of July and August. HFC Youth Programming promotes academic, physical and social development with a focus on asset development and community responsibility while assisting parents and caregivers by providing a structured, supervised program at no cost to the family.
